Jameel is the Founder CEO of OptiFin Solutions and cumulates 25 years of professional experience in Central Banking, Commercial Banking, Consulting and Academia. As a former Deputy Governor of the Central Bank of Mauritius (BOM), he was responsible for Monetary Policy Implementation, Financial Markets Operations and Economic Modelling. He led work towards the establishment of the Monetary Policy Committee in 2007. He has been a Board Director at Afreximbank and of SBM Holdings (2nd Financial Conglomerate of Mauritius). Jameel has been Consulting Partner and Head of Consulting in a Big 4, and an Individual Consultant as well, serving a multitude of organizations on wide-ranging matters. As a former Academic, he published widely in international journals and has more than 1,500 citations. His mission is to support African Banks and Financial Institutions in their Quest for Optimality, having known Africa for two decades.
